Women in the standardization industry shine on March 8

The International Association of Standard Users (IFan) published a video on March 8, 2023, in which representatives of some member standardization bodies in the ISO community expressed their gratitude. Ms. Vu Thi Tu Quyen, Deputy Director of the Department of International Cooperation and a representative of the General Directorate of Standards, Metrology and Quality, agreed to take part in this recording.
Organization for International Standards In terms of advancing gender equality for women in general and for those who work in the area of quality assessment standards in particular, ISO is a pioneering organization. ISO Council Decision 59/2019 authorized the creation of an ISO Gender Action Plan in accordance with ISO standards in September 2021.
The ISO Gender Action Plan offers a framework for: Greater comprehension of gender representation in ISO activities; Evaluation of the gender implications of the standards; Make ensuring that the work and activities of ISO include a gender perspective.
The initial ISO gender action plan runs from 2019 to 2021, and the subsequent ISO gender action plan will span the years 2022 to 2025. Raising awareness among ISO members and important stakeholders is crucial for the effective implementation of the gender action plan. Implementing the action plan will also require close collaboration with partner organizations. This will involve accumulating opinions, knowledge, and wisdom.
