The 49th meeting of asean consultative committee for standards and quality (ACCSQ) and its related meetings

The 49^th meeting of asean consultative committee for standards and quality (ACCSQ) and its related meetings held  from June 26-29, 2018 in Bali, Indonesia

Attending the meetings including the representatives come from 10 ASEAN National Standardization Bodies, are members of ACCQ  and its partners as Japan, USA, Australia, New Zealand, Korea, EU , international and regional organizations on standardization such as ISO, IEC, CEN /CENELEC. The Vietnamese delegation included representatives from the Directorate for Standards, Metrology and Quality (STAMEQ) and relevant ministries and agencies attended the meeting.

On June 25th, the workshop “ASEAN Principles on Harmonization of Management Regulations” was held to unify the basic principles for the harmonization of management regulations in the area.

At the 49^th meeting of ACCSQ, the representatives discussed and identified ACCSQ ‘s priority product groups to offer general solutions for standardization and conformity assessment in the next 10 years.

Some of key themes of the 49^th meeting of ACCSQ: reviewing the implementation of key tasks for 2018 and adjusting them to comfort with the current situation, discussing and contributing ideas to the amendment draft of Framework Agreement on MRA of ASEAN in 1998, MRA on type approval for car,  MRA on  building materials in ASEAN, two agreements of ASEAN on traditional medicine and functional foods.

The meeting noted the contributions and cooperation of the partners on standards, regulations and conformity assessment.

The meeting showed us that important role of ACCSQ in the area.
