Seminar “Measurements supporting the global food system”

In the celebration of the 10th Vietnam’s Science and Technology Day and the World Metrology Day 2023, the Directorate of Standards, Metrology and Quality in collaboration with the Department of Science and Technology of Thai Nguyen province held the Seminar “Measurements supporting the global food system” as the international metrology community celebrates World Metrology Day 2023.
Attending the Seminar were Mr. Tran Quy Giau – Director of Metrology Department, Ms. Ngo Thi Ngoc Ha – Director of Vietnam Metrology Institute, Mr. Vu Khanh Xuan – President of Vietnam Metrology Association, and representatives of Directorate of Standards, Metrology and Quality. From 37 provinces across the country, the representatives included Mr. Pham Quoc Chinh – Director of the Department of Science and Technology of Thai Nguyen and those of provincial Department of Science and Technology, with the attendance of 300 delegates.
Within the framework of the Seminar, the delegates exchanged and discussed issues related to the role and benefits of measurements supporting the global food system; How to effectively implement the Metrology Assurance Program to ensure measurements at enterprises (Project 996); Metrology supporting businesses and the global food system; improving the capacity of verification, calibration and testing of measuring instruments to meet the requirements of enterprises and officials; National Quality Infrastructure (NQI); Digital transformation of metrology; Solutions to propagate, disseminate and guide the Metrology Assurance Program to ensure measurement and the tasks of inspection and examination.
The seminar was an opportunity to praise and honor the metrology leaders and staff; propagate and disseminate widely in society the important role of metrology activities; encourage and promote metrology activities for socio-economic development and international integration.
