Promote the development and dissemination of GS1 standards globally

Representatives from international organizations will attend the four-day GS1 Global Forum 2023, which will be held in Brussels, Belgium, from February 13 to 16, 2023, under the theme “Same vision, Same voice, and Action as One Organization.” GS1 MO from different countries.

Mr. Nguyen Hoang Linh – Deputy General Director of the General Department of Standards, Metrology and Quality – representing GS1 Vietnam and the delegation members attended the forum.

The GS1 Global Forum 2023 has 50 working sessions on professional activities and CEO meetings in the regions to review progress and exchange agendas in the region.

The creation and development of GS1 standards, digital transformation, worldwide 2D (2D) code transformation, global traceability strategy, global training programs, and GS1’s implementation strategy in healthcare for the years 2022–2025 are all examples of professional activities.

During the GS1 standards development and development working session, members discussed the importance of GS1 standards in the global supply chain and data connectivity between brand owners, manufacturers, and suppliers. retail… to identify industry problems and provide solutions.

The Forum updated digital transformation platforms, shared experiences to increase data quality, exchange data intelligently, use the Verified by GS1 platform, and optimize data kinds at the working session on digital transformation. Codes like GLN in the supply chain identify new regulatory requirements, highlight the significance of GS1, and offer ways to protect international supply chains (especially in import and export).

In addition to technical and professional activities, the 2023 Global GS1 Forum also has the presence of CEOs from Asia-Pacific countries, whereby leaders of GS1 member organizations exchanged , review progress and put forward work programs in the area.

A special event commemorating the 50th anniversary of the invention of barcodes and the return of GS1’s birthday celebrations took place as part of the Forum as well. Also, the “Everyone Makes a Difference Award,” given to GS1 member organizations that have positively impacted the global development of GS1, was presented.

The GS1 Global Forum 2023, which concludes after 4 working days, offers GS1 members a chance to interact, share, and gain knowledge from one another. From there, spread knowledge about the GS1 community and work together as a unified entity to advance the creation and adoption of GS1 standards all around the world.
