In a significant move to promote cooperation among members of the Asian Productivity Organization (APO), NPO Vietnam (Vietnam National Productivity Institute) and NPO I.R Iran have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) focused on productivity enhancement. This agreement marks a new chapter in the bilateral relations between the two nations, aiming to leverage each other’s strengths in various sectors to drive mutual growth and development.
The MOU outlines several key areas of collaboration, emphasizing the importance of knowledge exchange, technical expertise, and the adoption of best practices in productivity. Both nations have agreed to work closely in areas such as capacity building and training, knowledge sharing, developing national productivity initiatives, and enhancing the productivity of key economic sectors, contributing to overall economic development.
This MOU on productivity is expected to bring about many positive outcomes for both parties. In the long term, this agreement could serve as a model for other APO member economies looking to enhance productivity through international cooperation.
The online MOU signing ceremony was successfully concluded on August 19, 2024. The Iranian delegation was led by Dr. Mir Saman Pishvaee, APO Director for Iran and Head of NPO I.R Iran. On the Vietnamese side, the delegation was led by Dr. Nguyen Tung Lam, Director of the Vietnam National Productivity Institute under the Commission for Standards, Metrology and Quality of Vietnam.
(The Asian Productivity Organization (APO) is an international, intergovernmental non-profit organization established on May 11, 1961. With 21 member economies, the APO is the only organization in the Asia-Pacific region with extensive activities across its member economies aimed at improving productivity and contributing to the sustainable economic and social development of the region.
With the approval of the Prime Minister, Vietnam officially became a member of the APO on January 1, 1996. The Commission for Standards, Metrology and Quality of Vietnam, previously known as the Directorate for Standards, Metrology and Quality, under Ministry of Science and Technology, is authorized as Vietnam’s representative to the APO and is the focal point for organizing and implementing APO programs and projects, as well as bilateral projects with APO members’ national productivity organizations.)
