The ISO Asia-Pacific Forum is a monthly events of Asian regional member organisations to keep up to date on the International Organization for Standardization’s most important operations (International Organization for Standardization). The February ISO Asia-Pacific Forum will take place on February 17, 2022 in an online format. The Vietnamese delegation had the participation of Mr. Ha Minh Hiep – Deputy Director General in charge of the General Department of Standards, Metrology and Quality and representatives of related units. The Forum opened with a meeting with the new ISO President – Ms. Ulrika Francke. Ms. Ulrika is very pleased to announce that ISO is still doing very well despite the Covid-19 pandemic which has caused a lot of difficulties and losses to the world.
Ms. Ulrika also saw that the standard was making a significant influence in people’s lives, particularly by helping to the response to climate change through ISO’s issue of the Universal Declaration of -Don in the ISO General Assembly’s Final Session in September 2021. At the same time, ISO is pushing ISO SMART, a transformation initiative that promotes the digital evolution of standardization by developing standards that are machine readable, interpretable, and enforceable. Ms. Ulrika aspires to be able to attend face-to-face meetings between the ISO President and member standardization bodies (NSBs) in the near future in order to increase the organization’s efficiency and provide advantages to it. agencies that are members.
At this meeting, Mr. Ha Minh Hiep congratulated the new ISO President, and also affirmed that Vietnam supports the Chairman’s commitments in the 2022-2023 term, specifically: On change Climate change, Vietnam attended the COP26.
