APO International Conference on the Importance of Productivity
On the occasion of its 60th anniversary and the 63rd Annual Meeting of the Executive Committee (GBM), the Asian Productivity Organization (APO) and AKP Secretary-General Mochtan sent invitations to the “International Conference on the Importance of Productivity” to member economies. The conference was held on June 10, 2021, 14:00 -17:30 Tokyo time (12:00 – 15:30 Vietnam time) online.
The conference emphasized the role of productivity as a driving force for growth for businesses, organizations, countries and individuals, considering new applications of productivity in the 4.0 revolution, allowing for smart transformation. The urgent productivity issues mentioned can be mentioned such as the quality of the workforce, future career opportunities, strategic vision of applying new technologies, investment in human resources (mental health, leadership,…). The conference is part of a series of events celebrating the 60th anniversary of productivity development efforts in the region. Speakers include Professor Paul Krugman, winner of the 2008 Nobel Prize in Economics; Minister in charge of digital programs Audrey Tang from Taiwan and other leading experts.
APO is a regional inter-governmental organization established on May 11, 1961 to promote the growth of industrial, service and agricultural productivity of member economies through connections with NPO and other international organizations. By improving productivity, APO aims to achieve sustainable socio-economic development. APO’s operating budget from the annual year and support from the governments of member countries.
