MoU signing ceremony in the standardization field

On November 12, the MoU signing ceremony between Directorate of Standards, Metrology and Quality (STAMEQ) and Standardization Administration of China (SAC) was held at the STAMEQ.
Attending the MoU signing ceremony, there were Mr. Tran Van Vinh –General Director of STAMEQ and the representatives from units of STAMEQ. On SAC side, there was MrTian Shihong Deputy Minister of The State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR) and Director of SAC and representatives of some units of SAMR and SAC.

Speaking at the MoU signing ceremony, Mr. Tran Van Vinh said that the annual goods exchange between Viet Nam and China reached nearly 20 billion USD. In the coming time, the cooperation agreement will focus on issues of standards and information exchange, but it is more important to wait for the recognition of conformity assessment of goods between the two borders and export goods from Vietnam to China and from China to Vietnam.
In addition, Mr. Tran Van Vinh also hoped to have results related to traceability to facilitate trade between the two sides.
Also at the signing ceremony, Mr. TIAN Shihong – Deputy Minister of SAMR and Director of SAC hoped to be cooperated with Vietnam to develop a suitable set of standards and could sign more cooperation memorandums with Vietnam.

STAMEQ highly appreciated the cooperation with SAC in recent years through the exchange of high-level delegations and China invited Vietnam to attend Chinese-led conferences and seminars. In the coming time, the STAMEQ expects that the two sides will promote cooperation through international and regional organizations of which the STAMEQ and SAC are members.

Besides, the effective implementation of MoU’s content will be signed, focusing on harmonizing national standards with international standards, accepting Chinese standards and vice versa, for interest fields of each side that does not have an international standard yet, sharing national catalogue. In addition, promote cooperation in traceability for import and export goods of Vietnam and China.
The STAMEQ also encourages cooperation between STAMEQ’s units and related units of SAMR.
