Workshop to promote smart production in the era of the Industrial Revolution 4.0

Workshop “Promoting smart production in the era of the Industrial Revolution 4.0” by STAMEQ in collaboration with the China Productivity Center (CPC) held on September 25 in Hanoi.

Affirming that smart production has played an increasingly important and indispensable role in the production process, Deputy Director General of STAMEQ, Mr Ha Minh Hiep emphasized that the development of Science & Technology has and is creating a wave of significant reforms in every aspect of life, changing production methods from traditional to smarter.

The workshop focused on the content of smart production training. Experts from CPC – an APO designated organization and APO’s centre of excellence in smart manufacturing would shed light on the concept of smart manufacturing, while also identifying analyzing the challenges of Vietnamese enterprises on intelligent production and sharing Taiwan’s experiences in to promote smart production in Vietnam in the coming time.

Mr Randy WENG, CPC representative in the sharing about iBench 4.0 – a productivity assessment tool for developing smart production has said that if enterprises were interested in mass production in the past, nowadays, focusing on the production of individual products and access to smart manufacturing methods is an option.

According to Mr Randy WENG, iBench 4.0 would help businesses identify themselves through questionnaires such as: analyzing and assessing enterprises’ views on smart manufacturing; assessment of factory capacity, factory automation capacity; assess the use of information technology in the enterprise, integrated management system … etc … In particular, iBench 4.0 would help businesses identify issues that leaders and members of the business to improve & innovate smartly or not.

Appreciating Taiwan’s iBench 4.0 evaluation kit, Mr Ha Minh Hiep said that iBench4.0 is the first means to open the door to smart production, so next time through cooperation. With CPC, Vietnam would develop an iBench 4.0 assessment tool suitable for Vietnamese businesses.

Deputy Director General of STAMEQ, Mr Ha Minh Hiep said that for Vietnamese enterprises to access more and easier for smart production, STAMEQ would promote training consultancy and roadmap to access to smart production for Vietnamese enterprises shortly.
