National Quality forum 2017 “Supporting Vietnamese enterprises in international and regional integration”
On November, 3rd, 2017, in Ho Chi Minh city, Viet Nam Directorate for Standards, Metrology and Quality (Ministry of Science and Technology)coordinated with the Technical Institute of the Federal Republic of Germany (PTB) held the 2017 national quality forum with the theme of supporting Vietnamese enterprises in international and regional integration.
This is the first National Quality Forum to be held in Vietnam along with implementing the quality forums in ASEAN countries with theme “ASEAN Strategic Plan for Standards and Conformity Assessment in 2016-2025 “.

The content of the forum has been disseminated to international organizations such as United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), German Development Cooperation (GIZ), Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) and about 40 associations such as Vietnam Textile and Garment Association (VITAS), Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP), Ho Chi Minh Business Association, Vietnam Pepper Association, Vietnam Rubber Association, Small and Medium Enterprises Association in the South … and thousands of other enterprises. The forum has received the attention of importers and exporters enterprises on key commodities such as textiles, footwear and rubber in the ASEAN and EU markets.
The forum had an attention of two international speakers from Europe and Asean. Mr. Graham Talbot has served as a member of the Board of Directors of the UK National Recognition Agency, has run the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation and the International Accreditation Forum, has leaded Great international project. Mr. Rajinder Raj Sud is the principal consultant for the ASEAN Regional Integration Assistance Project (ARISE), assisting the ASEAN Secretariat in market integration activities towards the establishment of an ASEAN Community with experienced speakers in the country
As one of the practical activities to implement resolution 35 of the Government on supporting and developing the business in the integration process to 2020. The aims of the Forum is enhancing the understanding of the state and private sectors, small and medium enterprises (SMEs) on role of national quality infrastructure (NQI) includes standards, technical regulations, technical document on metrology and conformity assessment; Support small and medium enterprises in ASEAN, and other enterprise integrate into the regional and international economy.
At the same time, the Forum provided an overview of technical barriers to trade and regulations on TBT in Vietnam’s key export markets as well as how to approach and overcome technical barriers to promote the export of Vietnam’s key products to major markets in the world.
The forum is an opportunity for enterprises to discuss about issues in standardization, metrology and quality.
